The City of Portland has announced that a city-wide parking will go into effect starting tonight, Saturday, January 24th at 10:00 pm. and ending tomorrow morning, Sunday, January 25th at 6:00 am. This parking ban will give city crews time to clear the streets in Portland. During this time, any vehicles left on city streets will be towed at the owner’s expense to the city’s impound lot. It’s located at 40 Commercial Street. To retrieve your car if towed, call 207 – 774-3025. Or you may call the parking division office at 207 – 874-8443.
Don’t be a statistic!. It’s expensive as well as inconvenient.
The cost of having your car towed by the City is $85.; impound fee is $35; and the ticket fee is $35.
There are a number of off-street parking places; one of the most popular that fills up quickly as well are found on Cutter Street and the parking lots there. (Just stay home & read some old posts here at mhn.com!)
But take heart; the annual Portland Flower Show is coming to 58 Fore Street on March 4 – March 8, 2015. www.portlandcompany.com/flower
For more details on snowbans, please visit the city’s website and look at the news section. The Time & Temp building will also flash “park ban” when a ban is in effect by the city.
