Chickenpox Cases Found at Portland Expo

Multiple cases of chickenpox in individuals staying at the Portland Expo have been identified according to a press release issued this morning by the city.  It is working with the Maine CDC to limit further exposure.  It has also been careful to alert any one who was known to have visited or voluntered at the Expo since July 26 to watch for symptons and to check their vaccination record with their healthcare provider.

A city employee said that it’s most children who were affected by it.

No word has been issued yet by the city as to what precautions need to be taken at the Expo to be sure the next tenant will not be unnecessarily exposed to chickenpox.
