ChappyWrap, the latest pop-up at the black boxes at 96 Washington Avenue, is celebrating its first retail effort with its Grand Opening, tomorrow, Wednesday, September 6, 2023, at 10:00 am – 5:00 pm.  ChappyWrap will occupy this space through the end of September 2023.

The 17 year old company was founded by Christina’s mother, Beth Lasara in the Boston area. She remains it’s CEO today.  In 2018, Christina, now President,  joined the company with her husband Drake joining the family business two years ago.

“We are a blanket company, but we also sell pillow covers, shawls and fragrant candles,” said Christina this afternoon as the couple and a friend were preparing for the Grand Opening tomorrow morning. “We’ve had a long-steady relationship with our manufacturers and we have grown together,” she added.

“The manufacturing equipment used to make our products are only available in Europe,” said Drake as he picked- up the narrative from his wife Christina.   “Because the US has gotten away from traditional textile manufacturing. we work with our 200 year old family owned and run mill in Germany,”

Drake continued that ChappyWrap added Poland as a sister mill to the Germany mill two years ago.  “Poland has helped us with volume because we are growing.   Poland is known for its textile craftsmanship as well as Germany,” he said.

ChappyWrap products are machine washable.  They are made of 58% cotton, 7% polyester and 35% acrylic.  The company sells 100 different styles of blankets in four different sizes – there is certainly one for every taste and need.  They are versatile; whether for picnics or a trip to the beach – there is one to satisfy your taste.

“It’s our first effort at retail.  We wanted to see how it would go.  It’s been a lot of work, but we are excited to be part of the neighborhood,” said Drake.

ChappyWrap will be open Wednesday – Sunday from 10:00 am – 5;00 pm during the month of September 2023.
