A celebration of the life of the late Prince, 57,  has been set for this evening at 6:00 pm at Congress Square Park according to an organizer of the event.  His death was announced earlier today.  He was found unresponsive in an elevator at his studio in Minnesota.  There had been a report of his ill health in the recent past.

The prolific legend was the son of two musicians and came from Minnesota according to news reports. His album “Purple Rain” was hugely popular.  Years ago he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.  His impact on the music business is historic.

Attendees at tonight’s celebration are asked to wear purple, bring boom boxes, signs and flowers.
