The MaineDemocraticSoscialists of America is Hosting this Rally on October 27, 2023.

A “Ceasefire Rallly Now” has been called for Friday, October 27,  at 3:00 pm  The place is at Congresswoman Chellie Pingree’s (D-Maine) office at 2 Fish Pier, Portland.  The event is organized by the Maine DemocraticSocialists of America, (“MaineDSA”)

While Israel’s prime minister says that an attack on Hamas is imminent to keep pressure on it, all across the nation rallies callling for a ceasefire have erupted.  Portland is no exception.

DSA members and US Representatives Cori Bush and Rashida Tialb submitted a resolution to Congress – “Ceasefire Now,” demanding a ceasefire in Gaza.  MaineDSA is demanding that Representative Chellie Pingree (D-Maine) sign on to the resolution and commit to voting NO on any military funding for Israel.

Bring signs, water and make sure to dress appropriately for the weather.  Masks are strongly recommended to limit Covid spread and for general personal safety.

President Biden has stated that he does not support the idea of a ceasefire at this time.
