On September 22, 2025, at approximately 1:11 pm., a message referencing a bomb was discovered on the wall of a Portand High Schol bathroom.  Portland Police responded immediately and the buiding was thoroughly searched with the assistance of explosive-detection dogs from both the Portland Police Department and the Maine Maine State Police.  No explosives were found and the threat was determined to be not credible.

Out of an abundance of caution, the schol chose to close early and dismissed students for the day.
