The annual April Stools Day & Litter Pickup has been scheduled for Saturday, April 6, 2013.  The event is sponsored by Friends of the Eastern Promenade, Munjoy HIll Neighborhood Oganization and the West End Neighborhood Association.  The clean-up starts at 9am – noon.  Meet near the Cutter Street/Eastern Promenade intersection.

The program entails cleaning up neighborhood residental areas, parks and trails by picking up litter, debris and dog stools.  The goal for the day goes beyond a spring cleaning.  The organizations involved also aim to increase awareness about responsible pet ownership by educating about how debris and pet waste contribute to water quality in the nearby Casco Bay and other waters.

Kathy Fletcher, founder of Fetch, began April Stool Day years ago.
