Annual King Tide Flooding Crawl Starts at Gulf of Maine Research Institute Tonight on Portland Waterfront

You are invited to participate in the 5th Annual King Tide Flooding Crawl tonight.  The Crawl runs from 11:15 pm – 12:45 am.  The Crawlers will meet at Gulf of Maine Research Institute (GMRI) 350 Commercial Street.  (Parking is free in its parking lot).

The group will then travel to several flood-prone locations around Portland in order to collect floor data and photograph art work contributed by local artists near the flood-waters.

The goal is to use these works to highlight the eerie, yet increasingly common reality of midnight flooding, especially because art has a powerful role in communicating what data alone often can’t according to Evan Paris, of GMRI.
