As of today, 19,471 absentee ballots have been requested by Portland voters for the upcoming November 5 election. 5,963 of them have voted in person. 3,900 absentee ballots still need to be returned according to information provided by the city’s spolesperson this afternoon.
This blogger learned the lines to vote at Portland city hall can be long. One person reported waiting 45 minutes in line to vote and another person reported waiting one hour and a half in line to vote yesterday.
On October 21, 2024, a report from city hall city clerk indicated that $14,362 absentee ballots had been requested; today’s report from city hall spokeswoman indicates that $5,109 additional ballots have been requested since last week.
A cable news report yesterday said that fifty (50) million people had already voted.
