HANDS OFF! Protest Against Trump and Billionaire Musk is a Nationwide Event. Many Towns in Maine are Participating – It is Set for Saturday, April 5th at Monument Square, Portland, From 11:00 am – 1:00 pm.

There are 21 Locations in Maine Participating in the HandsOff1 Protest, April 5th.  This Includes One in Augusta, 111 Sewall Street, From noon – 2:00 pm

Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) Captured the Attention of the World With his Twenty-five Plus Hour Inspiring Criticism of the Trump Administration Earlier This Week on the Senate Floor.  “Take Risks” he said.

Tomorrow, April 5, 2025, will be the single biggest day of protests since Trump retook office.  Tomorrow is really going to be BIG, and Indivisible is counting on everyone to grab some poster boards, some friends and some snacks so you can turn out to make it  historically huge.  The moment could not be bigger or more timely according to a press release issued by the Indivisible Team this morning.

In Portland, the moment and time for the HandsOff! protest is at Monument Square, across from the Portland Public Library.  It runs from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm.  Signs are welcome, but violent behavior is not.   HandsOff!  our health care, our jobs, our services, our Govenor Janet T.  Mills (D-ME), our immigrants, our history, our libraries, our courts, our public lands, our trans people, our protestors and our ecomony says this blogger.

The crackdown on peaceful protest is coming.  We all know Trump, Musk and the MAGA enablers will come after peaceful protestors if they continue unopposed much longer.  And when that crackdown comes, it needs to be alien, inexcusable, indefenisible and untenable.

We’re showing up on April 5th because if we don’t it will be so much harder to do so on May 5, June 5th or beyond.  Tomorrow, April 5, is when we set the tone that peaceful protests against this “Let Them Eat Cake” administration are widespread, unstoppable and only getting bigger said the Indivisible Team.

Too many institutions ——- from law firms to academia to corporations and the media —————- have chosen to meekly bow down to Trump/Musk demands.  Cory Booker made it clear during his historic marathon speech on the Senate floor that he was responding to pressure from his constituents to do more.  He did.  And it was inspiring.

“We have Elon Musk on the ropes.  His approval rating is in the toilet,” said the Indivisible Team.  And Trump has acknowledged publicly that billionaire Elon will be leaving DOGE in the near future.  Elon is a liability as was demonstrated in the recent Wisconsin Supreme Court election.  HIs unpopularity has forced some Republicans up for election in 2026, like Senator Susan Collins  (R-ME),  to distance themselves from him because he is such a liability.  Collins is sprinting from him like her re-election depended on it. Musk  is also a thorn in the side of many of Trump’s cabinet members.

When future generations ask what did you do in this historic moment, what wlll your answer be?!
