4th Annual Indie Biz Awards Announced Last Night

Last night the 4th Annual Indie Biz Awards were announced at SPACE Gallery. The nominations took place in mid-August to early September with voting beginning in mid-September. To be considered, orgniazations needed to be localy-owned, in Portland and independent. A wide selection of Portland’s businesses and non-profits were nominated this year, but only the top 5 in each category moved into the voting.

The winners in each category are as follows:

Longfellow Books won in the Soul of Portland,
Silly’s Restaurant won in the Flavor of Portland,
Portland Farmers’ Market won in Environmental Hero,
Sebago Brewing Company won in Community Hero,
Coffee by Design won in Global Hero,
Athlete’s Touch won in Best New Business, and
Micucci Grocery & Wholesale Foods won in Portland Icon,
Lucid Stage won in Portland’s Best Kept Secret, and finally,
Portland’s Farmers Market won in The Business With No Front.

The 4th annual Indie Biz Awards were sponsored by Coffee by Design, Angela Adams, CycleMainia, 2 Note Botanical Perfumery, Tsunani Tattoo, Portland’s Downton District, He Games Salopn, Green Clean Maine, Port Property Management, Goodwill INdustries of Northern New England and Apothecary by Design.
