2019 Cruise Ship Season Began Last Week in Portland

Last week the 2019 cruise ship season began with the arrival of the Norwegian Dawn. It was carrying 2,224 passengers and 1,000 crew members. Today the Grandeur of the Seas was in Portland for the day.

This year, Portland will welcome 100 cruise ships in total between May and November with 152,801 passengers expected and 62,204 crew members. While the total number of cruise ships is slightly down this year, Portland is welcoming larger vessels with more passengers.

The city continues to operate the Waterfront Marketplace where street vendors and artists can set up their displays between Ocean Waterway and the Portland Ocean Terminal on cruise ship days with 1,000 + passengers.
