ABURA, a SkinCare & Wellness Studio is Now Open at 100 Congress Street, on Munjoy Hill. The Other Side of the Duplex Will House a coffee shop DOUBLE GREAT.

Two long time friends have combined their business and creative acumen to start up two businesses on Munjoy Hill this summer.

Two weeks ago Carolyn Force opened ABURA – a skin care and wellness studio in one side of the 100 Congress Street duplex.  The products and services offered at this boutique are varied from a facial spa to massages and an infrared sauna.  Previously, this business was located at 502 Stevens Avenue.  But when the opportunity to relocate to this prime Munjoy Hill location became available, Amanda Forman did not hesitate to make the move.  The move to a larger space has permitted ABURA to expand its services to its customer base.  “I am very excited to be on Munjoy Hill,” said Amanda this afternoon. ABURA is Japenese for oil.

On the other side of the duplex, plans are well under way to establish a coffee shop by the end of July.  Named DOUBLE GREAT, the coffee shop will offer a full coffee bar, tonic bar, sparkling water and herbal lattes to patrons.  Some pastries will be available as well.  The re-establishment of a coffee shop won’t come soon enough as Munjoy Hill residents are avid coffee shop devotees!

Carolyn’s husband owns “Portland Dry Goods” located at 237 Commercial Street, Portdland.
