Last night the city’s planning board approved an application from Hay Runner, LLC. for a zoning change. The approval must go to the city council for its approval as well.
The applicant, architect Caleb Johnson, d/b/a Hay Runner LLC, owns three lots – 221 Congress Street, 6 Washington Avenue and 10 Washington Avenue. The zoning change would bring all three adjacent lots under one zone.
Part of the significance of this zone change is that it would seal a sales agreement between the infamous Alec Altman, owner of 10 Washington Avenue and Caleb Johnson, d/b/a Hay Runner LLC. (Alec Altman is the owner of Bingas Wingas on Route 1 in Yarmouth. At one time Altman and a business partner had considered another elaborate Bingas Wingas on this location.)
Back in 2009 Caleb Johnson was interested in building a condominium in that location; however, it never succeeded.
