The public is invited to attend the first public meeting on the Bayside to Portland Transportation Center Pathway Design Project on Wednesday, November 30 at 6:30 pm. The meeting is to be held at the Portland Expo, 239 Park Avenue, lst floor meeting room. The meeting is hosted by the City of Portland according to a press release issued today by the city spokesperson.
The purpose of the meeting is to accept public input on the overall pathway alignment preferences, issues and opportunities for neighborhood connectivity of the pathway. The proposed pathway runs from the future terminus of the Bayside Trail at Forest Avenue to the Portland Transportation Center/Fore River Parkway Trail. This would close an important gap – an envisioned network to connect together much of the Portland peninsula and neighboring communities.
A series of draft pathway alignment alternatives have been prepared to elicit public input.
The design project will be completed in the fall of 2017. The design is funded by federal, state and local funding. No construction funding has yet been secured.
