You are invited to join a study circle that begins on Thursday, April 3 and will meet for four (4) successive Thursdays from 6:30 pm – 8:00 pm.  “On Tyranny”, the highly acclaimed book by Timothy Snyder will be the focus of the study circle hosted by the West End Neighborhood Association, (WENA).  “On Tyranny”  is currently no. three on the “New York Times” non-fiction best seller list.

The event will be held at the Reiche Community Room.  Enter through Door 11 on the Clark Stret side of the building and take the elevator up to the Community Room.

Professor Snyder is a historian who specializes in the history of Central and Eastern Europe, the Soviet Union and the Holocust.  He is a frequent guest on cable news because of his expertise on fascist regimes he and his wife Marci Shore have studied comparing them to the current Trump administration.  It has been announced that Professor Snyder and his wife will begin teaching at the University of Toronto’s renonwed Munk School of Global Affairs and Public Policy in the fall of 2025.  The reason for their leaving the US is because of Trump’s attacks on higher education in the US.  The lack of pushback is of concern to the couple.
