The Grand Opening of the second Vincenza’s Italian Bakery takes place on Saturday, May 31st said Tina Giarranto, the store’s owner. this afternoon.  Located at 10 Exchange Street, in the Old Port, the popular bakery will have samples of pastries, pizza and sandwiches that are available seven days a week at its Grand Opening.   Yesterday was a soft opening for Giarranto.

The first Bakery is located in Saco.  For the meantime, baked goods will be delivered daily from the Saco store because the Old Port store does not have the ability to bake on the premises.  However, that is expected to change at some time in the future.  Giarranto plans on expanding her business next door and opening an Italian Restaurant at a later date.

Next door is also 10 Exchange Street.  It’s the other side of the building that Giarranto rents currently.  It once housed the well-known Movies on Exchange Street that closed just over four years ago. The Movies were owned by Judy and Steve Halpert.

Giarranto is a single mother with two young children.  She said she has opened these two Bakeries and plans on opening an Italian Restaurant to give her children a secure financial future.

The Bakery will be open Monday – Saturday from 7:00 am – 7:00 pm.  On Sunday it will be open from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm.

On another Exchange Street note, it has been confirmed that the Market Square Jewelers, from Portsmouth, NH have leased the space located at 17 Exchange Street.   The business could be moving in around July 1st according to Steve Bauman’s office.
