In a press release on August 22, 2023 to inform the public of the large drug seizure where 22-year-old Justin Williams, of Saco, was arrested with a significant amount of illegal narcotics in his possession on the west end of Portland – near the intersection of Mellen Street and Park Avenue.

After further testing of the 628 pills (Adderall, Xanax pills. Oxycodone), they were found to be counterfeit and many of them tested presumptive positive for fentanyl and methamphetamines.  Dealers are pressing these pills as they attempt to increase profits at anyone’s expense.

On Monday, a 17-year-old Portland girl overdosed on fentanyl when she ingested what she believed to be an Oxycodone pill.

The Portland Police Department wants to remnd everyone to please always be aware of the presence of counterfeit pills on the secondary market.  The Department recommends that you only take drugs that are prescribed to you from a doctor and obtained from a pharmacy.
