The first annual Christmas Party at the new Tomaso’s Canteen, Hampshire Street, happens on Sunday, December 20, 2015 from 12:00 – 5:00 pm.  The East End eatery and bar opened this fall after extensive renovations to it following the closing of Sangillo’s Tavern, a long-time occupant of the space.

All food and drink will be offered that afternoon at half price as part of the holiday party. The Canteen is open for lunch and dinner now, unlike in previous years.  The chef, Sean Freeman, formerly at Joe’s Boathouse, SOPO, is turning Tomaso’s into a destination food venue.  Tomaso’s has great stews and chilils and a full menu to delight the palliate!  And the onion rings are a life changing experience. This blogger attests to the fantastic stews and chills!

In addition, patrons are asked to bring canned cat food and/or $$ donations that will support HART, a no-kill cat shelter in Cumberland. Meg Minervino, manager of Tomaso’s, wlll be bartending and all of her tips will likewise be donated to HART, (Homeless Animal Rescue Team). Meg is a volunteer at HART and has four cats of her own.

Or if you can’t make the party, perhaps you can drop off canned cat food and/or checks to go to this worthy cause.  “Have a HART!”

Can you help out?
