Eliminating the Franklin Street Reconstruction item from tonights city council meeting will give City Councilor Spencer Thibodeau, an announced candidate for Mayor of Portland, the visibility he would not have otherwise.

That’s because Thibodeau, District 2, city councilor, is chair of the Sustainability & Transportation Committee to which the matter is expected to be referred this evening.

Order 128 is expected to be postponed until a meeting in September, according to a city press release from the city’s spokesperson.
