Stroudwater Distillery, a new distiller of gin, vodka and whiskey, plans to open its first tasting room at 4 Thompson’s Point by the end of this month – that’s if it receives permits from the City of Portland by then according to sources close to the situation this afternoon. Meanwhile, construction of the site is well underway.

Also under construction located between the Distillery and Bissell Brothers Beer is a new food venue  BIG J’S. The current plan is to serve chicken and waffles – catering particularly to both the Distillery and Bissell Brothers.  In fact, one wall of Bissell Brothers will contain a cut out that will allow customers at the Brewery to order food to accompany the Beer according to James Krams, Tap Room Manager, at Bissell Brothers.  It will also serve the adjoining Stroudwater Distillery.  Business owner of BIG J’s  is Jason Loring, owner of NOSH, Slab and Rhumb.

Beside Bissell Brothers is Cellardoor Winery that opened just prior to the opening of Bissell Brothers Brewery.  Cellardoor is based in Lincolnville, ME. (207) 763-4478 – completing  ‘Spirits Row’ at 4 Thompson’s Point.
