On Saturday, July 26, at 4:38 pm., Portland Police responded to the wooded area off Bishop Street for a report of a male with a gun who had fired multiple gunshots. The department’s Special Reaction Team (SRT) responded to the scene.  The nearby University of New England campus was put on lockdown and area residents were advised to stay indoors.

At approximately 9:30 pm, the suspect was taken into custody by Portland Police.  More information will likely be available on Sunday according to a press release issued by the Department around 10:01 pm.
