At 8:45 pm on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, Portland Police responded to the 1110 block of Forest Avenue for a report of a shooting.  Four people were injured and transported to Maine Medical Center.  One of the four individuals transported to Maine Medical Center has succumbed to her injuries.

An autopsy was performed by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and it was determined that Susan McHugh, 54, of Gray, died from a gunshot wound and her death has been ruled a homicide.  “We are not releasing any further details on the other victims at this time” according to a press release issued by the Portland Police Department around 10:00 pm this evening.

This is an “active and ongoing investigation,” so updates will be provided as the case allows according to a statement from the Portland Police Department.
