Pro-abortion advocates and providers from across Maine reminded voters that today marks the anniversary of Senator Susan Collins’ (R) vote in support of Justice Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. “Apparently everyone but the Senator knew that Kavanaugh was anti-abortion,” said this blogger. “She says one thing and then votes the opposite way if it fits her agenda.”
“Make no misake: the overturning of Roe falls squarely on Susan Collins’ shoulders after she voted to confirm Brett Kavanaugh” to the Supreme Court, said Devon Murphy-Anderson, Executive Director of the Maine Democratic party today. “I was one of the thousands of Maine women who called and wrote to Senator Collins begging her to not confirm Kavanaugh. But instead of siding with Mainers, instead of siding with women and instead of listenting to her constituents who elected her, she betrayed us.”
Lisa Margulies VP of Public Affairs for Planned Parenthood Maine Action Fund said in part: “Senator Collins let the people of Maine down with her vote to confirm Kavanaugh. She fundamentally breached our trust that she would safeguard our health, that she would safeguard our Maine values of freedom, dignity, autonomy and health care and our well-being.”
Aleisha Reynolds, a patient advocate from Portland said in part: “This administration has targeted medical facilities who offer abortions, even in states where this is legal — hampering their ability to provide other medical services, such as birth control, cancer screenings and other life saving care. This is an avalanche that began with Susan Collins’ vote…………………………… We all deserve better than Susan Collins.”

She even voted in favor of the screwball RFK, Jr.” Although the Maine Democrats have not issued an endorsement to run against Senator Collins, this blogger is endorsing Graham Platner for US Senate.
