The fifth annual Seaweed Week focused on restaurants gets off to a robust start on Friday, April 21 and runs through April 30, 2023.

Its purpose is to celebrate Maine growers and harvesters behind the scenes of this tasty, nutrious, versatile and sustainabale food according to Josh Rogers, owner of Heritage Seaweed, 61 India Street, and founder of Seawood Week.

Just a few of the highlights include restaurant and bar seaweed based entrees, cocktails and other specials, limited edition releases from brewers, bakers, distillers, cheesemakers and other artisians and special events such as a film premiere, kelp farm tour, art shows and so much more.  You can purchase fresh kelp direct from local farmers and cook it at home.
