“It feels inc first “It feels incredible that I’m “It feels incredible that I’m voting  for the first female President of the United States: said Emilee Cross, 21, this afternoon at the Merrill Auditorium voting place,  Cross is  a first time voter.  “He’s so sexist, racist and all around horrible person,” she said.

Joining Emilee in her enthusiasm for Hillary was Moriah Ritson, 65.  “I feel that it is empowering for women and it’s essential to vote for President Obama’s legacy,” she said, an eleven (11) day transplant from Cambridge, MA.  (See above right photo.)

Another Hillary voter was Thchi Dang, who came to the US from South Vietnam in 1983.  “This is the first time I’ve voted.  I voted for Clinton because I think she talks smart and she’s had experience in politics for a long-time.  I could not support Trump for president.”  (See left photo.)

Across Portland at Reiche School Canadian born Leah Whalen was selling home baked goods to benefit the Parents Teachers Organization.  “I would have loved to vote for the first female President of the US,” she said.  Whalen approached the  Department of Homeland Security in July to become an American citizen so she could vote for Hillary.  “I was told it would take six months before I could become a US citizen to vote, There was such a large backload of people wanting to become ciitizens to vote for Hillary.”  (See above right photo.)
