On Friday, August 15, 2025 at 2:07 pm., Portland Police responded to the University Credit Union on 391 Forest Avenue for a report of a robbery the Police Department reported this evening around 9:00 pm. The suspect entered the bank and escaped with $100,00 in cash before fleeing down Forest Avenue.  No weapon was observed during the robbery.

Thanks to video surveillance and investigatory measures, the suspect was located later in the day and taken into custody.  It was also discovered that the suspect had stolen a car earlier in the week.

Portland Police arrested Kenneth Morey, Jr., 64 of Portland.  He was arrested and transported to the Cumberland County Jail.
