President Joe Biden Just Before  Giving His State of the Union Address This Evening.

Congresswoman Chellie Pingree (D-Maine) released the following statement after President Joe Biden’s 2024 State of the Union address to Congress this evening:

“Tonight we heard from a leader guided by compassion, conviction, integrity and a vision for our shared future.  Our national accomplishments these last few years are unmistakable.  President Biden has enacted the largest climate change investment ever, drastically cut prescription costs for seniors, reduced unemployment to a 50 – year low deiivered student loan relief to millions, signed the most significant gun violence prevention legislation in nearly 30 years, spearheaded a once-in-a- generation infrastructure law, passed the CHIPS and Science Act bringing American jobs and indudstrial capacity home — and he’s just getting started.  This evening Preisdent Biden laid out a bold vision to rein in corporate greed, protect reproductive rights, support our allies, and keep the American dream alive for middle class families.

I support President Biden’s vision and celebrate his successes,” Congresswoman Pingree  concluded in her statement.

“President Biden far exceeded all expectations this evening in the delivery and content of his State of the Union Speech.  He left Autocrats of America, (formerly Republicans)  in the dust behind him.  On to a victorous November election for women and other vulnerable populations threatened by a second Trump administration,” said this blogger.  “The President came out swinging with a succesful record rather than the hate and revenge of his predecessor.”
