Congresswoman Chellie Pingree (D) is holding a heath care town hall meeting today, March 19th at King Middle School Cafeteria, 92 Deering School, Portland. Registration begins at 3:30 pm and the forum runs from 4:00 – 6:00 pm. (Everyone attending must register.)
The forum is on the proposed American Health Care Care and is expected to be voted upon on Thursday of this week in Washington, D.C. It is a proposal pushed by House Speaker Paul Ryan (R) as well as President Donald Trump. To date, there have been many critics of the proposal – coming from all sides of the political spectrum. – both conservative and liberal.
This is an opportunity for Pingree’s constituents to voice their views about the Republican proposal to repeal the Affordable Care Act. Pingree will moderate a panel discussion with key stakeholders representing older Mainers (AARP) health care providers (Maine Medical Association and Planned Parenthood of Northern New England) and patients (Consumers for Affordable Health Care) and take questions from her constituents.
