A peninsula zone parking ban has been declared for tonight, Tuesday, February 9th, 2016 starting at 10:00 pm through 6:00 am – Wednesday, February 10, 2016. Vehicles left on city streets after 10:00 pm tonight can be towed at owner’s expense.
“The Public Works crews did a great job clearing up the streets last night, but we are calling a peninsula ban to further clean up the narrow streets in advance of the below freezing temperatures this weekend,” said city manager Jon Jennings in an email this morning.
The peninsula zone covers he entire peninsula – the area south and east of I-295 to the Portland waterfront; from Tukeys Bridge to the I-295 Bridge at the Fore River.
The peninsula parking zone is a new designation this winter season and the second time it has been used.
