Earlier this week Plinny Reynolds, a resident of Washington Avenue, on the East End of Portland, told mhn.com that he purchased a former African restaurant located at 50-52 Washington Avenue. Reynolds said he plans on opening the restaurant in March of 2015. No more details are available at this time.
Reynolds had originally planned to start-up a restaurant on the first floor of a nearby building he owns. It once housed a flower shop. Reynolds told mhn.com on several occasions in the past that he was having difficulty getting financing for the operation – which by the way – does not have a kitchen on the first floor. The flower shop has since closed and the space is for rent.
