William Anton Will Serve as Principal of Rowe Elenentary School Starting July 1, 2023.

William Anton, a school superintendent from southern Vermont, will be the new principal at Rowe Elementary School starting on July 1st, 2023 according to a press release issued yesterday by the Portland school department.  Anton was selected for this role by the Portland Board of Public Education at the May 2 meeting.  He was selected from a field of 22 candidates from multiple states.

Anton has held multiple successful school and district leadership roles, including serving most recently as a superintendent of a district in southern Vermont.  Prior to that, he served as an elementary school principal in the same area for 7 years.  His previous experience includes being an assistant principal and a teacher and workig in marketing and public relations.

He is filling the position currently held by Interim Principal Jessica Steele.
