Mainers Want Fresh New Faces to Repesent them in Washington, DC Such as Oyster Farmer and US Marine Vet Graham Platner, 41. He Served Three Deployments in Iraq as a US Marine and one Deployment in Afghanistan with the US National Guard.
A new poll conducted by Emerson College found that Graham Platner leads Governor Janet Mills by a massive 27-point margin in the primary and outperforms her in a general election matchup against Senator Collins. This is now the seventh consecutive independent poll finding Graham to be the stronger candidate in the general election.
The poll, conducted March 21 – 23, shows Graham outperforming the sitting governor among both men and women, leading 55% to 28%. It also found that in a general election matchup, Graham defeats Senator Collins 48% to 41%, while Governor Mills fares worse against Collins in a head-to-head contest.
The poll also tested favorability ratings, finding that both Mills and Collins carry double-digit unfavorable ratings while Platner maintains a positive favorability rating among voters.
“Despite attack ads and D.C. insiders trying to meddle in this race, the movement Graham is building continues to grow,” said Graham for Maine Campaign Manager, Ben Chin. “He’s not only in position to win this primary, but he’s also the strongest candidate to defeat Susan Collins in November. It’s clear voters are looking for a positive campaign focused on their lives — lowering costs, expanding access to health care, ending endless wars and making the wealthy pay their fair share.”
Graham lives in Sullivan with his wife, Amy, just three doors down from the house where he grew up.
