The final Bayside Transportation Master Plan Workshop is scheduled for Thursday, December 10, 2015 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at the State of Maine room at Portland City Hall on Congress Street. Recommendations for changes to Bayside’s transportation network will be presented here. They include changes to improve the overall safety and accessibility for motorists, pedestrians , bicyclists and transit users.
The study is focused on the area bounded by Washington Avenue, Forest Avenue, 1-295 and Cumberland Avenue. Its intent is to build upon and integrate much of the transportation planning work and changing land uses that have taken place in the past fifteen years in both east and west Bayside, creating a framework for continuing neighborhood revitalization in this fast-changing area. Hundreds of suggestions have been made by the public since the study began this pas summer, including changes to Bayside’s Street configuration, on-street parking, transit, land use and bike and pedestrian connectivity.
The study will be completed at the end of December.
