Although President Trump has tried numerous strategies to shift the focus from his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein and his desperate struggle to keep the scandal under wraps, a new wrinkle popped-up this afternoon.
Some experts charge that President Trump is a very scared man – and the more scared he becomes, the more outrageous his assault on the rule of law becomes and judges who rule against him.
Tom Winter for NBC News reported that yesterday Trump’s DOJ asked a federal judge to deny a NBC request to “unseal the names of two associates who received large payments” from the deceased sex trafficker Epstein in 2018, according to court documents. According to Winter’s writing, the Department of Justice cited “privacy concerns” of the two individuals receiving the large payments.
One associate received $100,000 from Epstein and the second one received a payment of $250,000. Both payments were made back in 2018 – just days after the “Miami Herald” began publishing stories in which the many victims criticized the now infamous sweet heart plea deal Epstein received in 2008. The Epstein plea deal is also known as a nonprosecution agreement or NPA according to Winter’s account.
Prosecutors in the case said that Epstein’s payments may be evidence of efforts to influence witnesses. Now who the heck could they be?? Someone really, really close to Epstein? Someone obsessed with accumulating money?
Judge Berman has given NBC News until September 12 to respond to the Justice Department’s request that the names remain secret. Judge Richard M. Berman, is a senior US District Judge of the US District Court for the Southern District of New York. He was appointed by President Clinton.
