The city of Portland is pleased to announce the launch of a new round of the Microenterprise Grant Program aimed at supporting businsses, exsting and new that have been or continue to be impacted by the pandemic. American Rescue Plan Act (AMRA) funds are making this program possible.
The grant program is open to both nonprofits and for-profit businesses in Portland. To be eligible, the businesses must have seven or fewer employees (including the owner) and the business owner(s) must be low-moderage income. Nonprofits must have annual operating budgets of $150,000 or less and serve low-income populations. The grant will provide up to $5,000. ion a reimbursement basis. Eligible uses of the grant funds include rent, payroll, equipment, insurance, inventory, and other working capital needs, as well as investments in business development support and services such as business-related courses, hardware and software.
The application period will begin on September 11, 2023 and will close on September 29, 2023. Applications received by September 29 will be considered. If there are unallocated funds remaining, these funds may be made available at a later date.
