211 Cumberland Avenue, Franklin Towers, on the East End of Portland.

Portland police were dispatched to 211 Cumberland Avenue, Franklin Towers,  on January 31, 2024 at 9:04 pm for a report of a fight.  It was reported that a man was moving around the building with a machete and assaulting people.  Police were able to locate the assailant and take him into custody.

Thirty-eight year old Ahmed Ismail (homeless) was  arrested and charged with Assault, Criminal Threatning with a Dangerous Weapon and Violating Conditions of Release.

He was booked into the Cumberland County Jail where he was subseqently charged with Unlawful Possession of Scheduled “W” drugs and Trafficking in Prison Contrabond.
