Walter Omal, 31, of Portland died early this morning from the wounds he received last night in a shooting at Deering Oaks Park.  An autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause and manner of death.

Investigators are still on scene looking for evidence.  Because of the close proximity to the incident, we have asked the Department of Public Works to drain the duck pond and once that is complete, we will be conducting a search of the pond

Amin A. Mohamed (DOB 1-1-1984) of Roxbury, MA. was arrested on a charge of Murder.  He has been taken to the Cumberland County Jail and will be held without bail until he is arrainged.  The South Portland Police and the Maine Warden Service assised in this case..
