OnPoint Health Data moved into its new office space at 55 Washington Avenue last week. The forty (40) year old company that employs 29 people had outgrown its space at Pierce Atwood on the Portland waterfront according  to Dawn Hamlin, coordinator for the company.  The company had been located at Pierce Atwood for five years.

The company researches, analyzes health data, and develops soft ware for its clients.  Its clients include states including Utah, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Minnesota.  Maine is not one of its clients.  It’s full client list comes from across the nation – from Portland, Maine to Portland, Oregon.  Formerly SpotMe, an international company, had signed a lease for the same space next to Hardshore “Distilling Co., but backed out.  That was when OnPoint Health Data backed into the former J. J. Nissen Building.

Next to OnPoint is the Cong Tu Bot, a restaurant specializing in noodle dishes from Saigon.  The small noodle bar has applied for a liquor license.  The owner Vien Dabui, is a former business partner of Tandem Bakery and ran the Congress Street bakery. The site at 55 Washington Avenue has been under construction for sometime and still very much a work-in-progress – it some months off from being built out.

Finally, there is an unconfirmed rumor circulating in food circles that Harding Lee Smith is considering opening another restaurant in the former site of Roustabout in the same building as the two fore mentioned.  He owns restaurants in the area including The Front Room, The Grill Room, Boone’s Seafood Restaurant, etc.  Back in July and September of 2013, the controversial Smith was the subject of two unflattering profiles in “The Bollard” – The Head Chef from Hell and Satan’s Sous Chef, written by Chris Busby.
