Residents of the Waterville Street area received notification last week that Waterville Triad LLC had requested that the city postpone a planning board meeting scheduled for today regarding the construction of a three-story condonimun on a small piece of property – 29 Waterville Street on the Hill.
Neighbors in the area are concerned about the mass, size and industrial nature of a proposed three family structure which would obliterate a long-held waterview of Portland Harbor enjoyed by the public and residents of the neighborhood.
Betsy Elliman, a resident of St. Lawrence Street, said it was her understanding that the three developers had requested the delay in order to give the planning board more time to review materials they had submitted to the board along with their application.
