Portland has called for a Yellow Zone parking ban beginning at 10:00 pm tonight, Sunday, February 10th.  The ban ends at 6:00 am tomorrow, Monday, February 11th.  During this ban, all vehicles left on city streets within the Yellow Zone will be towed at the owner’s expense.  City and school lots designated for parking ban parking will be available at 5:00 pm tonight and vehicles must be out of the lots by 7:00 am tomorrow morning.

The Yellow Zone is the area within the downtown business district that is geographically bounded by:

Commercial Street on the South

Cumberland Avenue on the North

Franklin Street Arterial on the East

State Street on the West

The parking ban is in effect within the square area of these four streets.

Yellow Zone parking bans provide Public Services the opportunity to remove snow from the streets and sidewalks in this area improving traffic flow and commerce within the business district.  For more information, contact the city’s Parking Division at 874-8443 on costs relating to violations in the Yellow Zone Parking ban.
