By Carol McCracken  (Post # 709)

The University of New England, Portland, has just announced that it is pleased to host an art show that pays tribute to local artist Al Waterman, 88 years old,  and his two sons who are also artists.  There is an opening reception Friday, February 11 from 3:30 – 5 pm to which the public is invited.   It’s located at the Faculty Lounge, Proctor Hall on the UNE campus on Stevens Avenue, Portland.

The show is comprised of 13 paintings from Al and his two sons.  It runs through May 31 and following the reception on Friday, can be seen only by appointment.

The Waterman family grew up on Oxford Street.  All three still live in Portland with Steven, living on Munjoy Hill.  Michael attended Pratt Institute on a scholarship.

  1. Congratulations ~ wish I had been in town for the show. I have long enjoyed the works of the Waterman family. I’m sure Bob smiled on it. Best wishes and continued good health
