A $4.65 M reconstruction project on a portion of Forest Avenue in Portland is set to start on Monday, August 14th according to a press release issued this morning by the city of Portland.  The project will take a year to complete, but there will be breaks during the work.

The location for this reconstruction, known as Woodfords Corner, will be on Forest Avenue between Pleasant Avenue and Lincoln Street and extend up Revere Street to Deering Street.

Forest Avenue carries an average of 27,000 a day in this vicinity.  The impacts to motorists and pedestrians will be significant.  Motorists are urged to find an alternative route.

The project will provide improved movement for pedestrians and provide consistent bike lanes for cyclists and improved traffic flow with the reconstruction of the roadway along with new traffic signals.
