“Lively” a new, small cafe is coming to 54 Washington Street by June 1st according to a letter to the city by its owner Chef Paul O. Lively. The letter is part of an application for a wine & beer license to be considered at the upcoming City Council meeting on Monday, April 28th.
The cafe will be open Monday – Saturday from 10:00 am – 9:00 pm. Lunch will be served until 4:00 pm That menu will be composed of soups, sandwiches and salads. After 4:00 pm, the menu will change to include deserts and light fare. Also, Chef Lively will be selling handmade hard rolled chocolate truffles and homemade ice cream/sorbet. In fact, his truffles are award winners. This location was formerly occupied by Falmouth Flowers & GIfts. It shut its doors several years ago. Peering in the window as mhn.com did recently, it appears that meeting a June 1st opening date will be a formidable task.
Chef Lively is an experienced chef who owned a truffles shop in Brewester, Massachusetts for the last five years.
