Sharoana Cohen has reported tonight to this blogger that the twenty or so who were evicted from the Ocean Gateway parking garage on Fore Street have been given a few days reprieve. City Council Belinda Ray has informed Islanders that the group can continue to use the garage for a day or two while negotiations are underway.

This blogger did hear property owner Jonathan Cohen tell a Portland committee that he’d be interested in making a special deal for Island residents at his yet to be built parking garage at 100 Fore Street, behind the new WEX headquarters building. There didn’t appear to be any follow-up from the Committee.
