The 24th annual Gay Pride Parade started at noon today from Monument Square in downtown Portland. The skies were bright blue and the winds were blowing hard as they did all day.
The last entry in the parade was the 900 ft. gay pride flag. As it approached MECA on Congress Street a big gust of wind ripped the flag apart – turning the one flag into two of them. Its not the first time this has happened, said one of the event coordinators.
