The developer for a proposed hotel at 203  Fore Street has scheduled a neighborhood meeting for tomorrow, Wednesday, November 15, 2017, between 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm at the Hilton Garden Inn, 65 Commercial Street.  This will be an opportunity for the public to ask questions of the developer and is required by the city of Portland.

The proposal for a business hotel described a 6-story building, with one story of common space, including a restaurant, parking garage and rooftop bar.  The proposal does not indicate how many rooms the hotel will contain.  The proposed hotel will be located in the lot next to the Hampton Inn, apparently on the space that is currently used as a parking lot for the Inn.

The property on which the proposed hotel is planned is the former site of Jordans Meat Company.  Back in May of 2010, an immense fire broke out on the property with about 100 firefighters from all over the area working to distinguish it before it spread to neighboring buildings.

Please see previous post herein dated November 1, 2017 for more background information on the proposed hotel and other details.
