Elise Baldacci and Devin Deane were married this afternoon in a non-denominational service on the Eastern Promenade before 200 guests.  The double ring ceremony was performed by the bride’s cousin Robert Baldacci, who was asked just two weeks ago to perform the ceremony. The bride was attended by 5 attendants who wore different styles of dresses of different colors. There were five groomsmen and four ushers. The bride is the niece of former Governor Baldacci who attended the 4:30 pm ceremony with his wife.

The fathers of both the bride and groom are deceased and a moment of silence was held to remember them. Mothers of the couple offered reflections on keys to a happy marriage.

Mrs. Deane, 27,  is from Bangor.  She graduated from  the University of  Maine School of Law.   She currently is an attorney at Verrill Dana, Portland where she specializes in government relations, energy and lobbying.  Mr. Deane, is from Troutville, Virginia; near Roanoke.   He graduated Virginia Tech.  Mr. Deane also graduated from the University of Southern Maine and that is where the couple met.  He’s an attorney at Norman, Hanson and DeTroy where he’s a trial attorney.

The reception was held at Ocean Gateway on the Portland waterfront.
