The public is invited to attend an unveiling tomorrow – Wednesday, August 26th at 11:00 am at 58 Fore Street at the base of Munjoy Hill. The unveiling is that of concept images of the historic core of the former Portland Company site. The location is building 2 at 58 Fore Street.
The managers of CPB2LLC will publicly present plans for the restoration of the historic core of the former Portland Company, focused on celebrating the oldest and most historic buildings on the site. CPB2’s vision includes a plaza that will substantially increase public access to Portland’s waterfront as well as reinvigorate the historic Portland Company buildings and the spaces in-between.
Many in the public have been requesting an opportunity to have a public viewing of the vision for the redevelopment of 58 Fore Street. It is hoped that anyone with that interest will take advantage of this opportunity to meet the managers and see the vision for this almost ten acres of property on the waterfront.
The Historic Preservation Board has nominated 8 of the 16 buildings on site to be part of its historic district designation. The City Council will make the final decision on that.
